Past Continuous
Czasu Past Continuous używamy, kiedy mówimy o:
- czynnościach, które trwały w określonym momencie w przeszłości. np. I was making breakfast at 7:30 this morning.
- dwóch lub więcej czynnościach, które trwały jednocześnie w przeszłości. np. It was snowing, and the trafic wasn't moving.
- czynność, która trwała w przeszłości i została przerwana przez inną czynność.np. I was making breakfast at 7.30 this morning when my friend called me.
Zdania twierdzące:
I/He/She/It + was + czasownik z "ing" + reszta zdania. np. I was feeding the dog.
We/You/They + were + czasownik z "ing" + reszta zdania.np. They were feeding the dog.
Przeczenia:
I/He/She/It + wasn't lub was not ( to jest to samo) + czasownik z "ing" + reszta zdania. np. I wasn't/was not feeding the dog.
We/You/They + weren't lub were not (to też jest to samo) + czasownik z "ing" + reszta zdania. np. They weren't/were not feeding the dog.
Pytania i odpowiedzi:
Was + I/He/She/It + czasownik z "ing" + reszta zdania. np. Was she feeding the dog? Yes, he/she/it was.
Were + We/You/They + czasownik z "ing" + reszta zdania. np. Were you feeding the dog? Yes, we/you/they were.
